May 29, 2013
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech and the University of Arkansas have agreed to a two-game home and home football series beginning in 2014 in Lubbock and concluding in 2015 in Fayetteville.
The series will begin on Sept. 13, 2014, at Jones AT&T Stadium and will give Tech a home schedule that features Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma and West Virginia.
"We are thrilled to begin a home-and-home series with the University of Arkansas," Kirby Hocutt, Director of Athletics said. "Texas Tech and Arkansas had many memorable games while conference foes in the Southwest Conference, so this should be very exciting for the fans. We feel like we will be placing ourselves in great position as we kickoff the College Football Playoff era in 2014, with a non-conference opponent the caliber of Arkansas and a challenging Big 12 schedule."
Texas Tech will travel to Fayetteville on Sept. 19, 2015, to complete the series at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
Texas Tech and Arkansas last met in 1991 during the Razorbacks final season in the Southwest Conference before moving to the SEC. The Red Raiders won that game 38-21 at Jones AT&T Stadium.
