Four Red Raiders Named to Lindy's Preseason All-Big 12 Teams|

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech had four football players named to the 2011 Lindy's Preseason All-Big 12 teams while the Red Raiders were tabbed sixth in the national publication's preseason standings.
Senior offensive linemen Lonnie Edwards was named to the first team while junior offensive lineman LaAdrian Waddle, sophomore defensive back Tre' Porter and junior all-purpose player Eric Stephens were named to the second team. Edwards was named to the Phil Steele Magazine preseason All-Big 12 first team and Stephens received third team honors.
Edwards (Brownsboro, Texas) started all 13 games at left guard last season while earning All-Big 12 second team (coaches) and also grabbed All-Big 12 honors from four other publications.
Waddle (Columbus, Texas) is also a returning starter on the offensive line after starting in all 13 games at left tackle in 2010. Waddle was selected All-Big 12 honorable mention as a sophomore and also garnered second team Academic All-Big 12 recognition.
Porter (Midwest City, Okla.) is coming off a freshman season that saw him lead all Big 12 freshmen with 76 tackles averaging 5.8 tackles per contest. Porter notched a career-high 12 tackles against Baylor last season at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
Stephens (Mansfield, Texas) is coming off a record-breaking season while earning All-Big 12 honors from two publications and being named honorable mention All-Big 12 by the league's head coaches. He broke the Texas Tech career kickoff return record (76) and now also owns the school's career record for kickoff return yardage (1,894).
Stephens was also a threat on the ground rushing 127 times for 668 yards and leading the team with six rushing touchdowns. He also led all Red Raider running backs with 33 receptions for 212 yards. He set single-season Tech records in 2010 with 44 kick returns and 1,071 kick return yards.
