When it comes to Texas Tech, we've all heard the saying "It's All About Red", a movement to put the RED back in Red Raiders. In addition to "redding-out" Jones AT&T Stadium every Saturday of a home football game, local and national retailers have also increased their supply of red themed merchandise.

Because of the buy-in and fan involvement in "It's All About Red", selecting a "color out" game nowadays is even more impactful. To that end, the athletics department is inviting Red Raider Football fans to vote on the home game they would like to BLACK OUT in 2011.

A total of six home games are on tap for the 2011 season, including the home opener against Texas State on Sept. 3. The remaining home schedule includes Nevada, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Iowa State and Oklahoma State.

Starting today through Wednesday, August 3rd, fans can vote right here for the game of their choice. Voting is also accessible through the athletics department official facebook page at facebook.com/ttuathletics.

On August 3rd, Texas Tech will close the voting and announce the selected Black Out Game.

The athletics department is not endorsing any t-shirt as the "official" blackout t-shirt. Texas Tech licensed vendors and retailers are encouraged to create their own unique designs. Red Raider fans will have the opportunity to choose from a wide selection of creative blackout t-shirts including a design from Under Armour, the Official Outfitter of Texas Tech Athletics.

In addition to the Black Out, fans are also reminded that `Raider Power Fridays' officially kick off Sept. 2 with College Colors Day, a national movement in conjunction with the kickoff of the college football season. College Colors Day promotes higher education and celebrates the achievements, spirit and traditions of colleges and universities.

Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt encourages all fans to wear Red and Black every Friday during the 2011-12 athletics season to show Texas Tech pride and spirit. Be sure to like the athletics department official facebook page, facebook.com/ttuathletics, and submit your red and black pics on Raider Power Fridays.
