LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech offensive lineman Lonnie Edwards has been named to the 42nd Rotary Lombardi Award watch list, the Rotary Lombardi Award Committee announced Tuesday.

Edwards has started 23 games in his career and was named to the second-team All-Big 12 last season. The 6-foot-4, 322 pound lineman will lead the line at left guard. It is Edwards' second watch list of the preseason the other being the Outland Trophy.

Eligibility for the Rotary Lombardi Award is limited to down linemen, end-to-end, either on offense of defense, who set up no farther than 10 yards to the left or right of the ball, and linebackers who set up no father than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage. All candidates also must be eligible to play college sports under the rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
