LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior Le'Raven Clark was named to the Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List on Monday, his second preseason accolade heading into the 2014 season.
Clark, who was also a member of the Outland Trophy Watch list released late last week, was one of 123 players recognized for the Lombardi Award, which is presented annually to the top lineman or linebacker in the country.
Eligibility for the Lombardi Award is limited to down lineman, end-to-end, either on offense or defense, who set up no farther than 10 yards to the left or right of the ball, or linebackers who set up no farther than five yards deep from the line of scrimmage.
Each candidate earned a place on the watch list by earning All-American honors, being named to their respective all-conference teams or receiving 2014 preseason honors. The 45th annual Lombardi Award will be presented Dec. 10 at the Bayou Music Center in Houston, Texas.
This is the second-straight season where Clark has been recognized on the Lombardi Award Watch List.
The Rockdale, Texas native bolstered the Red Raider offensive line a year ago, starting in all 13 games en route to earning All-Big 12 first team honors by the Associated Press and Athlon Sports. Clark enters his junior season having started in 26-consecutive games dating back to 2012 where he was a first team freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).
Clark was also named to the ESPN Big 12 All-Bowl Team last season as well after helping shut down an Arizona State pass rush in Tech's 37-23 victory over the 14th-ranked Sun Devils at the National University Holiday Bowl.
