Michael Brewer just tossed his third touchdown pass of the day on a floater to Marcus Kennard in the back of the end zone.

The run was set up after a 14-yard pass from Seth Doege.

We are nearing the 150 play mark with little sign of stopping. Head coach Tommy Tuberville anticipated the scrimmage would run between 120-150 plays.

While the quarterbacks have had their day through the air, the Red Raiders are also quietly getting it done on the ground today.

Texas Tech has run 31 plays on the ground for a total of 109 yards, averaging of just over 3 yards per-run.

Freshman Ronnie Daniels leads the team with 43 yards on 10 attempts, while Eric Stephens has 35 yards on three attempts.

The Red Raiders however, are not playing full-contact which has made running the ball a challenge for the backs.

Here is an updated look at the Texas Tech quarterbacks, who have had an impressive day thus far:

Seth Doege: 11-for-18 182 yards 2 TD

Michael Brewer: 12-for-17 236 yards 2 TD

Scotty Young: 8-for-11 87 yards 1 TD

Jacob Karam: 1-for-3 8 yards 0 TD

True-freshman quarterback Michael Brewer continued his impressive day on the field. Brewer put an explanation point on his second scoring drive of the day when the Lake Travis product tossed a ball to the corner of the end zone and Derek Edwards made leaping catch for the touchdown.

Brewer went 5-of-5 for 47 yards on the drive capped off with his second touchdown pass of the day.

Brewer is now 12-of-15 passing on the day for 236 yards during the scrimmage.

No quarterback has thrown an interception, although the offense has turned the ball over once on a fumble recovered by Pearlie Graves.

With redshirt freshman Scotty Young under center, the offense drove down the field for another touchdown. Young went 5-of-6 for 72 yards capped by a touchdown pass to Omar Ontiveros on a bootleg.

Young also broke free for a 13-yard run.

Freshman Ronnie Daniels had one rush for two yards on the drive.

The offense just completed their first drive of the scrimmage, capped off by an 18-yard touchdown pass to Darrin Moore. Doege went 4-of-9 on the drive for 63 yards and was sacked twice.

Junior college transfer Leon Mackey was in on both sacks.

Doege got off to a slow start, completing just one of his first four passes, but got on a roll after slinging an 18 yard pass to Cornelius Douglas down the middle of the field.

Eric Stephens had a 22 yard rush on the drive.

The team has cleared the field and is meeting at the 50-yard line in front of head coach Tommy Tuberville. We are now minutes away from kickoff here at Jones AT&T stadium.

Again, the coaches stressed yesterday that they expect to answer several questions today as they get their first live look at the squad after a week of training camp under their belts.

Expect a big day from Seth Doege after a solid week of practice. Also, several freshmen look to make a statement including Ronnie Daniels and Blake Dees.

Keep it locked here for updates throughout the scrimmage.

Seth Doege is taking snaps in pre-game drills with the first-team offense. He has looked good during practice, receiving daily praise from both his coaches and teammates. However, Doege has repeatedly reminded the media that the quarterback job is still open between himself and Jacob Karam.

Today, against a live defense, Doege will get his chance to separate himself, while Karam will have the opportunity to make a statement.

We have been told that between 120-150 snaps are planned today between three groups.

Kickoff is now under ten minutes away here at Jones AT&T Stadium.
