"Meet The Two-Deep" is an exclusive daily feature at texastech.com designed to allow Red Raider Nation to connect with this year's football team. The players in this feature made the official "two-deep" following spring practices, which means they will be competing for a starting spot when Texas Tech opens the 2011 football season at home against Texas State on Sept. 3. Check-in each morning at 10 a.m. (CT) on texastech.com and get to know a different member of your Red Raider football team.

What goes through your mind when running onto the field with the team on a gameday?
"On gameday, the [most fun] thing is coming on to the field, there's a ton of adrenaline. There's been a lot of preparation going into each game. I guess you can't think too much, you have to react. All the preparation, all the studies we've done on the opponent. Finally, it's time to play."
What is your favorite thing about being a Red Raider?
"Obviously just being a part of something that's bigger than yourself. The family atmosphere here is unbelievable, and we're privileged to have it. And the hardworking mentality, we don't take it for granted. So to be a Red Raider is to work hard, and we celebrate a lot. We celebrate our victories."
Is there a motto or a phrase you live by?
"My favorite Bible verse is `For when I am weak, I am strong.' 2 Corinthians 12:10. There's going to be hard times, but know that the Lord will be with you always in those hard times."
What is your personal goal for this season?
"I have a lot of personal goals that I wrote out before going into the summer, but I think the biggest goal that I have is to get a Big 12 Championship. I'm a team person, and we've all worked hard together every day, so the biggest goal is to get a Big 12 Championship."
Do you have any hidden talents?
"I don't think talents are talents unless they're shared. One of my favorite things to do is music. I play the piano and sing, it helps me get my mind off of other things."
Who are some of the major influences in your life, both on and off the field?
"Off the field, I would say my father. He's been an incredible support, my mom as well, and all my brothers and sisters. And on the field, watching Tim Tebow and Brett Favre, the way they play the game with so much passion and leadership. It's a lot of fun to model myself after them in those aspects."
What has been the biggest difference for you personally from your first year at Tech to where you are now in your career?
"I think the biggest thing is maturity. Obviously, the coaching changes were a big change, but we were blessed to have all of these great people here now. I think maturity and just learning here day-by-day different experiences. I think it's just all a part of growing up."
