IT'S FOOTBALL TIME IN WEST TEXAS
Months of speculation, talk radio, water cooler chat, pundit predictions, and rankings of every thing imaginable can finally be put to rest. It's FOOTBALL time in West Texas. Texas Tech will kick off its 88th season of football on Saturday when the Red Raiders host the Northwestern State (FCS Division) Demons at Jones AT&T Stadium at 6 p.m. The Red Raiders enter the 2012 season with a program record of 524-405-32 that dates all the way back to 1925 when Texas Tech fielded its first team on the gridiron. The oldest sport on campus, Texas Tech Football will play its 17th season as a charter member of the Big 12 Conference where it has compiled a league record of 71-58 . The game will be televised live on Fox Sports Southwest Plus and on the 38-station Texas Tech Sports Radio Network from Learfield Sports.
