Aug. 30, 2010
LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head football coach Tommy Tuberville is issuing a charge to Red Raider Nation.
Be a part of the "Raider Walk" before every home football game.
The Texas Tech football team will begin a new tradition this year called the "Raider Walk" which will give fans the chance to greet the Red Raiders as the arrive at the stadium prior to the game. These walks are traditional at schools all across the country and Texas Tech hopes to have thousands of fans lining the streets each home Saturday as the Red Raiders arrive for battle.
The Raider Walk will start exactly two hours and 15 minutes prior to kickoff and the athletics department will announce an exact time each week, once kickoff times have been determined. The walk will begin at the corner of Canton Ave. and Drive of Champions (corner of Dan Law Field and the City Bank Auditorium) and will proceed down Drive of Champions in front of the Frazier Alumni Pavillion and all the way to the football training facility, just east of the ATC (bubble).
The team busses will drop off the team and coaching staff there at the intersection of Canton and Drive of Champions and they will be met by members of the Goin' Band From Raiderland as well as the cheerleaders and pom squad.
