Sept. 5, 2008

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's game against SMU on September 13 will air live on FSN, the network announced Tuesday. The matchup will kick off at 6 p.m. from Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas, and will mark the sixth time in the last seven years the former Southwest Conference rivals have met on the field.

The game will be shown regionally in Big 12 markets with Joel Meyers (play-by-play), Gary Reasons (analyst) and Emily Jones (sideline reporter) calling the action.

The teams renewed on-field acquaintances in 2002 and played the following two years and again in 2006 and 2007. The Red Raiders claimed a 49-9 win in Dallas last season and have not lost a contest to the Mustangs since the 1986 campaign.

Texas Tech holds a 30-16 advantage in the series and has won the last 12. The last time the teams met in Lubbock, the Red Raiders claimed a 35-3 win in 2006.

Texas Tech continues the 2008 season at Nevada on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 8:05 p.m. CT.
