Sept. 22, 2008

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Big 12 Conference announced Monday that ABC has selected ninth-ranked Texas Tech's conference opener at Kansas State for its 2:30 p.m. broadcast Oct. 4. The game is the second of the season on television for the Red Raiders and the first on ABC.

Texas Tech welcomes its first open date this week since the 2004 season. The Red Raiders completed non-conference play Saturday with a 56-14 win over Massachusetts in Lubbock and are 4-0 for the first time since the 2005 season. Kansas State is 2-1 on the season and hosts Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday in its final pre-conference tune-up. The Wildcats dropped a 39-28 decision at Louisville in its last game Sept. 17.

Other games picked up for broadcast Oct. 4 include Oklahoma at Baylor (11:30 a.m./FSN), Kansas at Iowa State (11:30 a.m./VERSUS) and Missouri at Nebraska (8 p.m./ESPN).
