LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech football team spent about 90 minutes Thursday putting finishing touches on the game plan for Saturday’s Big 12 Conference matchup against Colorado.

In addition to ironing out any wrinkles still left in Saturday’s plan, the Red Raiders spent an extended time working on all phases of the kicking game to close the workout. Tech will conclude the practice week with a brief walk-through Friday afternoon.

“We’ve really had a good week,” head coach Spike Dykes said. “The players have done a good job of rebounding and not pouting around here this week.

“There’s still a lot of football to be played and there are a lot of folks still sitting even in the Big 12 South,” Dykes said. “When you sign on, you sign on for a whole season. I can guarantee our players are in this for the duration.”

Texas Tech comes into the game 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the Big 12 following last week’s setback at Oklahoma State. Colorado is 3-2 overall, but 2-0 in conference play following an overtime win over Missouri last week.

Saturday’s game will be televised by ABC Sports to a regional audience. Kickoff for Texas Tech’s 70th Homecoming game is set for 2:35 p.m.
