LUBBOCK, Texas - All Texas Tech students are encouraged to dress up like Texas Tech Pirates when the Red Raiders take on Kansas on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Three lucky participants will be selected and given an opportunity to win prizes from Texas Tech Athletics.

The selected students will be photographed at the student entrance and will have their photograph placed on the official Texas Tech Athletics Facebook page for a fan vote of best pirate. The pirate with the most votes during the week of November 2 will be the winner. The official Texas Tech Athletics Facebook page is www.facebook.com/ttuathletics.

After the votes are tallied, one student will win a chest full of pirate prizes to be presented November 21 when the Red Raiders take on Oklahoma. The chest includes a pre-game grub for four at the Red Raider Club hospitality event, four souvenir pirate field passes for the pre-game warmup and team introductions, which includes photo opportunities and an autographed Mike Leach 2008 Gator Bowl DVD and 2006 Insight Bowl "Greatest Comeback in NCAA Bowl History" DVD.

Finalists will be selected at the student entrance based on originality of the costume, creativeness and Texas Tech Spirit. Due to security purposes, all props including banners, flags, and poles will not be allowed into the stadium.
