Texas Tech Mourns The Passing Of Coach Darrell Royal
 
Royal passed away at the age of 88

The Texas Tech Department of Athletics and Red Raider fans across the world mourn the passing of former University of Texas Head Football Coach Darrell Royal.

Coach Royal was an iconic figure in the intercollegiate athletics landscape in our state and nation. Royal, who was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1983, won three national championships at Texas during his 20-year coaching career with the Longhorns.

Texas Tech extends its deepest sympathies to Coach Royal's wife Edith, the Royal family and the Texas Longhorns.
