LUBBOCK, Texas - The Ted Hendricks Foundation made several adjustments to its Mid-Season Watch List, including the addition of Texas Tech junior defensive end Brandon Williams (Fort Worth, Texas). Williams is one of 33 players listed and one of six representing the Big 12 Conference.

Williams has been a thorn in the sides of opposing offensive lines and leads the Big 12 Conference with 10 sacks on the season, including six in six conference games. His sacks total ties him sixth nationally and he leads the Big 12 Conference overall and in conference games only. Williams' six league sacks came in games against Nebraska (1), Texas A&M (2), Kansas (1) and Texas (2).

Williams has 19.5 career sacks and is tied fourth on the Texas Tech career sacks list with former Red Raider and current Indianapolis Colt Keyunta Dawson. Williams also ranks fourth in league play with 11 tackles for loss.

The Hendricks Award has been presented annually since 2002 and is awarded to the nation's top defensive end. Previous winners of the Hendricks Award include Terrell Suggs (Arizona State, 2002), David Pollack (Georgia, 2003-04), Elvis Dumervil (Louisville, 2005), LaMarr Woodley (Michigan, 2006) and Chris Long (Virginia, 2007).

The watch list will be shortened to include up to six finalists in the final weeks of the season, and the final vote will be concluded Dec. 8. The 2008 Hendricks Award winner will be announced Dec. 10.
