LUBBOCK, Texas - The postseason honors continue to roll in for Texas Tech as 13 Red Raiders were named to the 2008 Associated Press All-Big 12 team as selected by a panel of 20 sports writers who cover the league in seven states. Three of Tech's five first team selections came from the defensive side.

Leading the way was sophomore wide receiver Michael Crabtree who garnered first team honors for the second consecutive season. Crabtree finished the regular season with 1,135 receiving yards along with 18 touchdowns.

Joining Crabtree on the first team offense was senior offensive lineman Rylan Reed. Reed had his most impressive year to date on the Tech o-line and was part of a unit that only allowed 11 sacks all season long.

On the other side of the ball, junior defensive end Brandon Williams and senior defensive backs Daniel Charbonnet and Darcel McBath were named to the first team. Williams led the Red Raiders with 11 sacks and finished the season with 21 tackles and three forced fumbles. Charbonnet had a phenomenal senior season as he registered 54 tackles, intercepted five passes and recovered three fumbles. Right alongside Charbonnet was senior free safety Darcel McBath who led the Big 12 Conference with six interceptions and added seven pass breakups. He finished second on the team with 70 tackles.

Picking up second team honors was senior offensive lineman Louis Vasquez. Honorable mention selections included: Graham Harrell (QB), Stephen Hamby (OL), Baron Batch (RB), McKinner Dixon (DL), Colby Whitlock (DL), Brian Duncan (LB) and Jamar Wall (DB).

Mike Leach was named the Associated Press Big 12 Coach of the Year earlier this week.
