SPRING 2009: Finished in a tie for third at the UTSA Intercollegiate to help the Red Raiders win with rounds of 73-68-69 for a 210 ... finished at even-par at the UH-Hilo Intercollegiate after carding consecutive rounds of 70 in rounds one and two and a 76 in the third ... finished in a 19th-place tie at the Morris Williams after turning in a 224 with rounds of 78-70-76 ... competed in the Callaway Golf Match Play Invitational with a win in the match play event over Texas A&M ... carded an 11-over 227 at the USF Invitational with a pair of 76s and a 75 ... fired consecutive rounds of 77 to post a 154 at the Aggie Invitational.

FALL 2008: Tied with teammate Santiago Rivas in 13th place to lead Tech at the Carpet Capital Collegiate ... fired rounds of 74-70-73 to shoot 1-over for the event ... tied for 15th place at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate finishing with a 222 and helping the Red Raiders to a ninth place showing ... led Tech to a fourth-place finish at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational with a season-best 5th place with rounds of 73-70-73 for an even-par total of 216.

SPRING 2008: Wrapped up the spring season with a third-place finish at the Big 12 Golf Championships ... he carded a 3- and 1-under and posted a 2-over 74 in the final round ... competed in the spring opener at the Hawaii-Hilo Invitational where he shot the tournament's third-best round ... he finished with a 7-under 203 for rounds of 71-64-68 ... led the Red Raiders at the UTSA Invitational for the second-straight spring tournament ... finished in a three-way tie for second with rounds of 70-69-74 for a 213 ... scored a 75-82 - 157 at the Linger Longer Invitational ... finished in 14th place at the Western Intercollegiate with a final round of 76 ... finished in a 34th-place tie at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate and carded in a 72-75-79.

Competed in five events this season with a score average of 73.83...tied for seventh at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate with a 224...Merrell's best finish came at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, where he finished fourth with a score of six under-par 207...He shot his season low at that same tournament with a first round score of 64, tying the second-lowest round in Tech history.

SPRING 2007: (Sophomore)
Participated in eight events on the spring... Turned in a four-under 209, his lowest of the season, in the UH-Hilo Intercollegiate to place 42nd... He later tied for 17th at the Big 12 Championship with a plus-15 225... Had the team's fourth-lowest stroke average with 73.91.

FALL 2006: (Sophomore)
Participated in four tournaments on the fall season... Had the team's third-lowest stoke average with 73.92... In the first tournament of the season, he turned in a combined scorecard of 219 at the International Collegiate Tournament to place 24th... He later tied for 20th place in the Jerry Pate International Tournament where he shot a season low 65 (-6) in the first round, and helped Tech bring home 2nd place... Turned in rounds of 65-73-71--209 (-4) to mark a career low 18-, 36-, and 54-hole score... Low-round of 65 ties the fifth lowest in Tech history.

2005-06: (RS Freshman)
Participated in six tournaments on the year, with a stroke average of 75.89 ... Posted his best performance of the year in his first event, a tie for 25th at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship ... Turned in a tie for 27th at the 2006 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship ... Fired a low round of 71 in the final round at the Big 12 Championships.
