LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's golf team completed the first round of 36 holes at the 17th Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, La., earlier today. The No. 41 Red Raiders shot a team round 576 (287, 289) to finish in second place, trailing three strokes behind round one team leader Southern Methodist University (573).

Leading the Red Raiders is 6-foot junior Mark Hull who is in first place after shooting a five-under-par 139 (69, 70). Two other Red Raiders finished in the Top 20 as senior David Bolen and sophomore Brad Jacobson each shot a two-over-par 146 to tie in 18th place with six other individuals.

Teammate Kyle Willmann shot a four-over-par 148 (71, 77) to tie for 36th and sophomore Brian Smith tied for 74th shooting a 13-over-par 157 (83, 74).

Tech will resume the final round of play tomorrow at the Oakbourne Country Club with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
