Men's Golf Tied for 7th at Louisiana Classics

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's golf team concluded its final round of play at the 17th Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, La., earlier today. The Red Raiders shot a 305 for a total round score of 881 (287, 289) to tie in 7th place with Big 12 opponent Kansas. Southern Methodist University shot an even par 864 (291, 282, 291) to hold onto its lead from round one taking the tournament and individual titles. Four Red Raiders rounded out the top 50 as junior Mark Hull slipped from round one's lead after shooting a final round of 82 for a total score of 221 (69, 70) to finish in a six-way tie for 23rd. Senior David Bolen shot a six-over-par 222 (73, 73, 76) along with teammate Brad Jacobson (74, 72, 76) to finish in a tie for 29th. Kyle Willmann shot a total round of 223 (71, 77, 75) to tie in 34th place while sophomore Brian Smith tied for 73rd after shooting a 19-over-par 235 (83, 74, 78). The Red Raiders return to action March 18-19 as they travel to Aiken, S.C., for the Fifth Annual Cleveland Golf Championship.
