The Texas Tech Men's Golf team narrowly missed out on its first tournament win of the season as the Red Raiders came up five strokes shy of Virginia Tech in the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular.

No. 48 Texas Tech finished second at the two-day tournament in Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla., with a three-round score of 880. The Red Raiders finished 17 strokes ahead of third place finisher Virginia Commonwealth.

Junior Esteban Restrepo picked up his first top five finish of the season and the second of his career with a 3-over, 219. He fired a 69 in round one, a 74 in round two and a 76 in today's third and final round.

Three other Red Raiders finished in the Top 10 as Henry Todd tied for sixth followed by Matias Dominguez and Clement Sordet who shared 8th place.

The Red Raiders return to the links later this month at the Middlebrook Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va. The three-day tournament tees off on March 23 and concludes on March 25.
