Junior Finley Ewing IV finished tied for 17th to help lead the No. 43 Texas Tech Men's Golf team to a sixth place finish at the 46th Annual Morris Williams Intercollegiate at the UT Golf Club in Austin.
"Our team is young but it's important that we keep learning from these situations," said head coach Greg Sands. "We struggled today and we have to learn to be able to pick ourselves up and move on to the next hole. Finley (Ewing) played well and we need his continued leadership."
Texas Tech ended the two-day tournament at 31-over 883 after posting a 10-over 302 in today's final round. The Red Raiders finished 13 strokes behind fifth place North Texas (18-over 870).
Top-ranked Texas held on to win the tournament at 9-under 843 while New Mexico finished second at 7-over 859. TCU moved past Texas A&M to claim third place at 14-over 866 while Texas A&M finished fourth at 13-over 868.
Junior Finley Ewing IV led the Red Raiders on the day as he finished in a tie for 17th at 5-over 218. Chandler Rusk was the only other Red Raider in the top 25 as he landed in a tie for 20th at 6-over 219.
Texas Tech will return to action on April 9 at the Cowboy Classic in Phoenix, Ariz.
