LUBBOCK, Texas - The 37th-ranked men's golf team finished competition in Laredo, Texas, in 8th with a team score of twelve-over-par, 876(290-288-298). Tech was unable to fight its way past host Texas A&M (875), who finished one stroke ahead of the Red Raiders for the 7th-place spot. The Red Raiders finished one swing ahead of the nearest competitor, Lamar University, who placed 9th with a team effort of 877.

Sophomore Andrew Dresser finished ahead of all Tech competitors with a 214 (70-70-74). Dresser's score was two-under-par, good enough for a tie for 10th in the final individual rankings. Freshman Oscar Floren (71-77-73) and Sophomore William Haddrell (75-72-74) battled hard to finis with a solid score of 221, tied for 37th. Floren (71-77-73) and Haddrell (75-72-74) both finished the Border Olympics 5-over-par. Junior Chris Pace (224) and Sophomore Jonathan Lenz (230) finished 51st and 75th, respectively.

No.39 SMU sizzled in Laredo all weekend long. The Mustangs finished first in the tournament 852 (282-276-294), and are taking home their first ever Border Olympics title. The Mustangs blew by the competition, finishing seven strokes ahead of the nearest competitor and twelve-under-par. Fellow Big 12 school No.48 Baylor finished second in the tournament with a team total of 859. No. 14 Brigham Young (862), No. 29 Colorado State (866), and No. 45 San Diego State (869)round out the top five.

The Red Raiders will have five days off before they return to competition Thursday, April 8th at the Thunderbird Golf Classic in Tempe, Arizona.
