PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. -- Texas Tech sophomore Hannes Ronneblad carded a second consecutive 3-under par 69 to finish 7-under for the tournament and lead the Red Raiders to a tie for fourth in the 2014 Carmel Cup held at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Tech (355-356-364--1075) finished at 5-under as a team in its first tournament of the season. The Red Raiders were just one stroke behind third-place TCU (1074) and 12 behind champion Georgia (1063). Tech finished four shots better than No. 21 South Carolina, 13 shots ahead of Arkansas and 26 ahead of Oklahoma State.

Senior Clement Sordet (68-71-72--211) also landed a top five finish with a tie for fourth at 5-under, followed by fellow senior Matias Dominguez (72-70-72--214) in 12th place at 2-under.

Freshmen Guillermo Pereira (70-77-75--222) and Wes Artac (74-73-76--223) along with senior Esteban Restrepo (76-73-76--225) rounded out the team scores for the Red Raiders.

Sophomore Corbin Kasten (79-72-79--230) finished at 14-over as an individual player.

Ronneblad tallied 14 birdies in three rounds with only seven bogeys. He never shot higher than even par on any nine holes over the weekend and finished with a clean card in his second round on Saturday - three birdies, 15 pars.

Sordet nearly caught up with his freshman teammate with 12 birdies over the weekend and shot a team-low 68 in the first round on Friday with five birdies and only one bogey.

Tech will now have the next three weeks to prepare for the William H Tucker Invitational, Sept. 26-27 at The Championship Golf Course at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
