LUBBOCK, Texas - Junior golfer Santiago Rivas fired rounds of 68 and 67 Monday to finish the day in a 10th-place tie and five shots off of the lead at the Jerry Pate Collegiate Invitational in Birmingham, Ala.

Rivas is among 12 golfers at 7-under or better for the event and within striking distance of tournament leader Mark Harrell of Alabama, who shot a 12-under 130 on the day. The final round of the 54-hole event tees off Tuesday morning.

Freshman Sergio Franky is tied in 24th place after shooting rounds of 71 and 69 and sits at 2-under, while Will Griffin, the nation's 13th-ranked golfer, is 1-over with a 143. Sophomore Matt Smith posted a 2-over 144 and freshman Nils Floren sits tied in 58th place with a 10-over 152.

The Red Raiders are in eighth place at 7-under for the tournament, one shot behind fellow Big 12 member Texas. Tournament-host Alabama leads the event by six strokes over UNLV, while UAB, North Carolina and Auburn hold the third through fifth positions. Florida is sixth, followed by Texas, Texas Tech, East Tennessee State, BYU, Georgia State and Georgia Southern, respectively.
