WINDEMERE, Fla. - Texas Tech junior Matias Dominguez moved up 16 spots on the final day to finish in a tie for 18th individually at 2-over par and lead the No. 35 Red Raiders to a 13th place finish at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational.
Tech (301-291-302--894) finished its fall schedule by moving up for the second consecutive day after being in 15th place following the first round to finish at 30-over par for the week.
Dominguez got to 2-under par early on Tuesday but ran into trouble down the stretch, bogeying three of his final five holes to go with one par and one birdie. He finished in the top 20 for the second time in as many tournaments and finishes the fall with a team-leading 73-stroke average.
Juniors Clement Sordet (71-77-77--225) and Henry Todd (78-73-80--231) finished in the top 65 with true freshman Corbin Kasten (81-70-76--227). Freshman Hannes Ronnblad finished his first tournament with a 5-over 77, tying his first day score.
The Red Raiders begin the spring schedule Feb. 6 at the Ameri Air Waikoloa Beach Resort Tournament in Kona, Hawaii.
