Texas Tech Golf Teams Head to Augusta National|

LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas Tech men's and women's golf teams will spend the weekend in Augusta, Georgia for the golf trip of a lifetime as student-athletes from both squads will get the chance to play Augusta National Golf Course, site of The Masters.
The teams will play the course on Saturday and Sunday before returning back to Lubbock.
"What an incredible opportunity for our student-athletes to have this weekend," Tech men's head coach Greg Sands said. "There are not a lot of golfer who will ever have this chance in their lifetime. We are so grateful for the generosity of the Texas Tech athletics supporters. This is a trip our current student-athletes will never forget and we hope to continue in the future."
The opportunity to play Augusta National - a private, membership-only course with exclusive access - was made possible by prominent donors to Texas Tech Athletics who are also members at Augusta.
"This is the trip of a lifetime," Tech women's golf head coach JoJo Robertson said. "We are so thankful to supporters for giving us this opportunity. I couldn't think of a better way to begin our spring season. I am so excited for our team to have this experience while at Texas Tech. It's going to be a weekend that we never forget!"
The men's golf team opens the spring season on Feb. 6 at Kona, Hawaii in the Ameri Air Waikoloa Beach Resort Tournament. The women's golf team will begins their spring campaign at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico on Feb. 16.
