Lubbock, Texas - The 41st ranked men's golf team will begin its spring season Wednesday at the 14th Annual Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate in Waikoloa, Hawaii, amidst a competitive field of 21 teams, 10 of which are ranked in the top 50. Tech recently placed three competitors in the top 25 of the Big 12 Conference in stroke averages, with sophomore Andrew Dresser leading the way in third place at 71.1 strokes per round.

Tech will be looking to improve an already successful fall season where it was led by Dresser and senior Brad Jacobson with a 71.1 and 71.7 season stroke averages, respectively. As a team Tech set the second-lowest three-round score in school history, twice, shooting 846 at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic and at The Nelson.

Tech finished 11th last year at the Taylor Made/Waikoloa Intercollegiate with a score of 857. The Red Raiders will seek to have a strong showing this year against some of the nation's best teams including No. 2 USC, No. 5 Georgia Tech and No. 8 Arizona State.

Tech will begin play on the Waikoloa Kings' Golf Course Wednesday morning. Play will begin at noon (CT), and the 54-hole event will wrap up play Friday.
