LUBBOCK, Texas - - The Texas Tech men's golf team exploded with an eight-stroke win at the UTSA Invitational at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas. The team finished the tourney one-over par (285, 287 and 281) after three rounds of play. Kyle Willmann swung his way into third place with a five-under par performance with rounds of 69, 70 and 69. Mark Hull followed in fourth place at three-under par with rounds of 71, 69 and 70. David Bolen made his mark in a 10th-place tie with four other golfers at three-over par with rounds of 69, 75 and 72. Brooks Kelly fired rounds of 76, 82 and 70 for a 15-over par performance that left him tied for 42nd place with three other golfers. Brad Jacobson finished the tourney in 46th place at 16-over par after shooting rounds of 76, 73 and 80. Trey Pyka rounded out the Raiders in 55th place at 19-over par with rounds of 77, 77 and 78. UTSA finished the tourney in 2nd place at nine-over par with a team total of 861 (286, 281 and 294). The University of Tulsa kept it close at 10-over par with a team total of 862 (287, 288 and 287). The individual title was split between Craig Lile of Arkansas and Luke Main of Texas-Arlington. Both golfers finished at 207 with a six-under par performance. Shad Muth who lead into the final round ended the tourney in sixth place after shooting a final round of 77 leaving him at one-under par.
