Lubbock, Texas - The No. 44 Texas Tech men's golf team is en route to its best finish of the year at the Louisiana Classics, La., behind the clubs of sophomore Andrew Dresser (73-81-144) and junior Chris Pace (72-72-144,) who lead the way for the team tied for fifth at even par. The Red Raiders as a team are sitting in second place, after shooting three over par (290-289-579), five strokes behind tournament leader and defending champion, SMU.
Joining Dresser and Pace in the top 15 are two other Red Raiders in freshman Oscar Floren and junior Shaun Melville, who sit in 11th and 15th place, respectively. Floren is shot one over par (72-73-145), while Melville shot two over par (73-73-146). Both enter the third round seeking the best finishes of their career. Sophomore William Haddrell rounds is tied for 41st after shooting six over par (75-75-150), rounding out the last of Tech's competitors.
The third and final round of the 19th annual Louisiana Classics will resume today at the Oakbourne Country Club with a 7:30 a.m. start.
