Callaway Collegiate Match Play Up Next for Tech|

LUBBOCK, Texas - Coming off of wins in each of the last two tournaments, No. 9 Texas Tech begins play at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championships at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., Sunday. The Red Raiders are the second-highest ranked team in the 16-team field.
The tournament mirrors the new format the NCAA has adopted for this year's championships. The teams will play two standard medal play rounds Sunday, followed by three rounds of match play Monday and Tuesday. The top eight finishing teams from medal play will advance to the championship bracket, while teams nine through 16 will compete in the consolation bracket.
Texas Tech tees off the medal play rounds with No. 8 Alabama, No. 10 Indiana and No. 69 San Diego. Other teams in the field include, (4) Stanford, (26) Florida State, (29) Arizona State, (31) UCLA, (32) Chattanooga, (35) Texas A&M, (37) San Diego State, (43) Duke, (46) Louisville, (55) UC Irvine, (59) Charlotte and (71) Middle Tennessee State.
The Red Raiders have won back-to-back titles in their last two tournaments at the UTSA Intercollegiate and Ron Smith/USF Invitational. In each of those events, Red Raider golfers have claimed at least a share of the medalist honors. Chris Ward picked up the individual title at UTSA, while Santiago Rivas shared the title at the USF event.
