LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas - After shooting an opening round of 299, the Texas Tech men's golf team finds itself in fourth place at the 15 team Copy Systems/Toshiba Copiers Collegiate Championship at the Chenal Country Club. Host school Arkansas-Little Rock leads event, shooting a total score of 290.

The tournament was scheduled for 36 holes today with the final 18 coming on Tuesday but rains halted play after 18 holes. The event will be shortened to 36 holes with the final round to be played tomorrow.

Senior Philip Tate leads the Red Raiders and is tied for 10th overall after firing a one-over-par 73. Senior Alex Armstrong (74) trails his teammate by one stroke and is tied for 18th. Corey Henegar shot a three-over-par 75, good for a tie at 23rd place. Also for Tech, Matt Loving is tied for 39th after shooting a 77 and Blake Smith is tied for 71st with an 81.

Arkansas-Little Rock boasts the top three finishers after the opening round. Jaime Seim leads the event after shooting a four-under-par 68. Casey Yates is second at 69 and Mitch Beaver is third with a score of 70.

The final round will played tomorrow with the first tee time at 8:00 am.
