LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech mens golf team tied for 11th at the 49th Annual Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas, with a score of 891. The men shot 302 and 290 on day one and concluded their play with a 299 today.

Kyle Willmann shot a 70, 67, 71 with an eight under par effort to win the tournament. Willmann finished three strokes ahead of second place finisher Jason Hartwick of Texas. Mark Hull tied for 58th shooting 228 (78,78,72) at 12 over par. David Bolen tied for 76th shooting a 233 at 17 over par. Bolen shot a 78,76,79. Brooks Kelly shot a 76,79,80 at 19 over par to tie for 81st. Brad Jacobson shot a 238 (78,74,86) at 22 over par to tie for 88th.

The University of New Mexico won the tournament with a score of 855. The 15-team field included three other Big 12 schools. The University of Texas team shot an 860 placing second. Texas A & M and Baylor University tied for third shooting an 874.

Tech will swing back into action Apr. 23-24 when they compete in the Big 12 Championships in Hutchinson, Kan.
