LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech men's golf coach Greg Sands announced today that Drew Hackler has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University and compete for the Red Raiders next season.

"Drew is a fine, young man as well as an excellent golfer," Sands said. "There is no doubt that Drew will be an asset to our program. He is a winner, a competitor, a well-rounded student and a true gentleman. We are very excited about the addition of Drew to the Texas tech Golf Team."

In five years as a junior golfer in Oklahoma, Hackler twice won the Oklahoma Golf Association State Tournament and finished no lower than third in the other three years. He also won the USGA Junior Amateur Qualifier at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla. Additionally, Hackler posted three top ten finishes in the American Junior Golf Association and logged a 73.0 stroke average in national events.

While Hackler enjoys success on the course, he also maintains a 3.67 grade point average.
