LUBBOCK, Texas - High winds wreaked havoc on day two of the NCAA West Regional in Albuquerque, forcing several teams to lose grips on the positions they held following the first round. Texas Tech dropped from 14th to 16th, but have a chance to finish among the top 10 with a strong final round on Saturday.

The Red Raiders currently sit at 19-over par and are six shots out of 10th place. The top 10 teams from the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships next weekend in Columbus, Ohio.

Kyle Willmann and Brooks Kelly led the Red Raider charge Friday with rounds of 73 and 70, respectively. Both players are tied in 22nd place. Kelly's 2-under par 70 brought him back to plus-2 for the tournament after a first-round 76 on Thursday.

David Bolen is tied in 47th place after posting a 76, while Mark Hull is in 97th place with a 78 today. Brad Jacobson rounds out the scoring for the Red Raiders in a tie at 118.

UNLV leads the event and holds a one-shot lead over Fresno State. Washington, Arizona and San Diego State are all within three shots of UNLV. Round one leader Texas is in a sixth-place tie after shooting 15-over par on Friday. The Longhorns were 3-under on Thursday.

Texas Tech will tee off for the final round Saturday.
