TOLEDO, Ohio - Following a four and a half hour rain delay Tuesday, Texas Tech and the afternoon groups teed off at 4:45 p.m. ET and managed to complete 13 holes, before play was suspended due to darkness. The teams will complete the second round Thursday at 6:45 a.m., followed by the third and final round of stroke play, which is expected to begin around 10 a.m.

When play was called, the Red Raiders stood in 22nd place and were 4-over on the day with players on holes 14 through 16. The team will pick up where it left off Thursday morning. The teams will then be reseeded for the 10 a.m. start of the third round.

Individually, Chris Ward is tied in 35th place and is 1-under for the second round through 16 holes, while Nils Floren is 2-over on the round, also through 16 holes. Santiago Rivas also is 1-over and has completed 15 holes. Garrett Merrell and Brian Scherer are 3- and 4-over, respectively, through 14 and 17 holes.

The top eight teams after 54 holes will advance to match play and compete for the team national championship, beginning Friday. The individual champion will be crowned following the three rounds of stroke play that wraps up Thursday at a banquet that evening that will feature Jack Nicklaus as the guest speaker.
