LUBBOCK, Texas - Former Texas Tech men's golfer Chris Ward captured the Southwest Kansas Pro-Am Championship Saturday afternoon, erasing a two-stroke deficit to start the day with a 6-under 65 final round at the Golf Club at Southwind in Garden City, Kan.

Ward, the 2010 Big 12 individual champion, finished 19-under for the tournament, claiming the $15,000 first-place prize in the process. Todd Ressetti and Derek Tolan finished in a tie for second at 15-under.

After a 6-under third round on Friday, Ward kept the momentum going Saturday, quickly erasing the deficit by shooting 5-under over the front nine. The McKinney, Texas native maintained the lead over the fine nine holes, going 1-under with no bogeys for his first career professional win.

The tournament's second and third rounds were played at the nearby Buffalo Dunes Golf Club (par 72). Ward, a member of the Hooters Tour, was a combined 7-under after the opening two rounds.
