LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech posted a final round 290 to move into an eighth-place tie with Pepperdine to close out the 2000 William H. Tucker Invitational at The Championship Course in Alubuquerque, N.M.

Brigham Young won the event with a 3-under par 861. UNLV followed in second with Arizona, New Mexico, Hawaii and Southeastern Louisiana rounding out the top five. San Diego State finished in seventh place ahead of Tech and Pepperdine. The tournament fielded 23 teams.

David Bolen and Mark Hull tied in 11th place with a pair of 1-over par 217s. Hull turned in the round of the tournament for the Red Raiders with a 69 on the final day. Kyle Willmann finished in a 64th-place tie with a 226. He shot a pair of 72s in the tournament, but struggled in the second round with an 82.

Trey Pyka and Bubba Bailey closed out the scoring for the Red Raiders. Pyka finished tied in 99th place with a 234, while Bailey finished 108th with a 237.

Texas Tech hits the links again Monday at the SMU Stonebridge Classic in McKinney, Texas.
