Men's Golf Opens Play in Jack Nicklaus Invitational on Monday

LUBBOCK, Texas - Coming off a fourth place finish at the Adams Cup of Newport, the Red Raiders will travel to Dublin, Ohio for the Jack Nicklaus Invitational held at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

The two-day tournament features a talented 12-team field that includes the third ranked team in the nation, Arkansas, along with fifth-ranked Oklahoma State, according to Golfweek Magazine.

The Red Raiders took fourth in the Adams Cup after a strong performance from Finley Ewing IV who finished tied for eighth with an even-par 215. Freshman Clement Sordet tied for 14th after shooting a two-over 217.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys took the inaugural Jack Nicklaus Invitational title in 2010 with an 864 while Illinois finished six shots off the lead to take second and Texas followed in third place.

Muirfield Village Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is par-72 course. Muirfield, which plays host annually to the PGA's Memorial Tournament, measures 7,352 yards from the championship tees.

The 54-hole invitational begins with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start on Monday with the second round following and concluding with the final 18 holes on Tuesday with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m.
