LUBBOCK, Texas - In a very close tournament the Texas Tech men's golf team is in 16th place, just two spots behind a North Florida nationally-ranked team, after the first round in the Stanford hosted Nelson.

Duke finished the first round of play with a four-under par 280 for the lead. The Devils have a four-stroke lead over (25) North Carolina State (284) and Washington (284). Colorado and Wyoming finish out the top five at 287.

The Devil's Leif Olson is in the individual lead after shooting a 68 while teammate Kevin Streelman is tied for second place with three other golfers at 69.

Junior David Bolen leads the Red Raiders tied for 48th place with a 74, just six shots out of the lead. Mark Hull and Kyle Willmann finish the first round in a 54th place tie at 75. Brooks Kelly and senior Corey Henegar tie for 72nd place after shooting 77s in the first round.

The 19-team tournament continues Saturday with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. Third round play is scheduled on Sunday for an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
