Nov. 15, 1999

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Director of Golf Jeff Mitchell announced today that Brad Jacobson has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University and begin competing for the Red Raiders in the 2000-01 season. Jacobson currently attends Hamlin High School in Bryant, S.D.

“I am very excited about Brad’s addition to this team,” Mitchell said. “Brad is an excellent player, a great student and an exceptional person. He will be a great ambassador for Texas Tech, and we are proud that he will be a member of the Red Raider family.”

Jacobson finished second earlier this year at the U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifier and earned a top-20 finish in the American Junior Golf Association Compaq Classic. He is a three-time MVP of the Hamlin varsity golf program, winning the 1999 state high school tournament.

In addition to the many accomplishments Jacobson has received on the course, he also is a member of the Hamlin All-State Chorus and a starting guard on the varsity basketball team.
