LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's men's golf team finished the fall season ranked 87th in the latest Sagarin College Rankings after finishing last season 250th.

The Red Raiders won their final tournament of the fall season at the Hal Sutton Invitational in Shreveport, La. Texas Tech also finished in the top 10 of three other tournaments.

The Texas Tech freshman class narrowly missed the top ten, closing out the fall season 11th in the nation in Sagarin's freshman impact rating. Texas Tech's starting five consisted of three freshmen, a sophomore and a junior.

Sophomore David Bolen led Tech with a 73.7 stroke per round average in 15 rounds. He posted two top 10 finishes and tied for second at the Hal Sutton Invitational. Freshmen Mark Hull and Trey Pyka posted averages of 73.9 and 75.7, respectively, while freshman Brooks Kelly averaged 77.5 per round. Junior Corey Henegar added 75.9 strokes. Pyka tied for first at the Crown Classic in his first collegiate outing, while Henegar posted Tech's only other first-place finish at the Hal Sutton Invitational.

The Red Raiders continue play at the University of Michigan Wolverine Invitational in Beaufort, S.C., March 4-5, 2000.
