Texas Tech Men's Tennis Improves to 3-1
LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas Tech men's tennis team defeated Abilene Christian 6-1 to improve to 3-1 on the season. Abilene Christian fell to 5-1.
Tech captured all three wins in doubles matches to claim the first point of the match and went on to win five of the six singles matches.
"I think the team came out very strong today considering we were without two of our top players, Petar Danolic and Ryan Sharpe," Raider head coach Tim Siegel said. "I was encouraged by the tremendous effort and enthusiasm in doubles play and I was also encouraged by Steve Wood. He battled back to win his match."
The Red Raiders are next in action when they face Texas-Arlington in Arlington Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Tech meets No. 9 Texas Christian Sunday in Fort Worth at 1:30 p.m.
