Texas Tech improves to 5-8 on the season and 1-2 in the Big 12. Oklahoma falls to 12-4 overall and 2-2 in Big 12 Conference matches. Lacy, a junior from Dallas, held-off Petigrove at the number six singles slot by a score of 7-5, 6-7 (2), 7-5 to break a three-all tie and secure the victory for the Red Raiders. Lacy held a 5-2 lead in the third set before Petigrove knotted the score at five-all. Lacy had three match points in the final game before securing the win. "This was a big win for our team," said Texas Tech Director of Tennis Tim Siegel. "We have beaten two nationally-ranked teams this season, both by scores of 4-3. In both cases, we outfought the other team. Doug Lacy was not going to lose today. That was a classic match in which neither player was going to give up. It was good to get a win. We have had several close matches lately, although the scores really don't indicate just how close they have been." Texas Tech 4, Oklahoma 3 Singles #1 Adam Neil, Oklahoma def.
