Texas Tech Routs Pacific

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Texas Tech men's tennis team defeated the University of Pacific 6-1 Friday in the consolation bracket of the UC-Santa Barbara Invitational Collegiate Tennis Classic.

The Red Raiders advance to play Southwestern Louisiana in the consolation semifinals Saturday at 2 p.m. (central) at Cathedral Oaks Club in Santa Barbara.

Texas Tech jumped ahead 1-0 by winning all three doubles matches, all by the score of 8-2. The Red Raiders then won five of six singles matches, four in straight sets, to clinch the dual match victory. Texas Tech's Doug Lacy and Ole Olsen of Pacific split sets 6-4, 4-6 before the dual match was clinched.

Texas Tech improves its record to 6-9 on the season.
