April 25, 1997 Texas Tech Men's Tennis Loses Big 12 Match to Oklahoma StateAUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team lost a tight match to Oklahoma State Friday by a score of 4-3. The Red Raider led the match 3-1, before succoming to the Cowboys. Tech got victories at the No. 2, 3, and 4 singles spots. Tyler Jimenez won in straight sets for the Raiders, recording a 7-6(7), 6-3 victory at the No. 2 spot. "We had a chance to get it done tonight," said Texas Tech Director of Tennis Tim Siegel. "We just couldn't close. We feel really good about our chances to go the NCAA Tournament and we have played well over the last few weeks.
