Men's Tennis Falls to Colorado, 4-3|

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team was defeated by Colorado 4-3 Saturday in the Athletic Training Center on the Texas Tech campus. The Red Raiders won three doubles matches, but lost the doubles dual competition to move to 4-4 on the season and 0-2 in the Big 12.
Senior Tylir Jimenez was one of three Red Raiders to earn wins in singles action. Jimenez pulled out a defeat over Colorado,s Boris Sepesi in three sets from the No. 2 singles slot, winning 3-6, 6-4, 7-6.
"We came into the match today planning to win," said Jimenez. "Things didn,t go our way today, but now we have to turn our attention to our next match."
Tech's Adam Baranowski and Carey Biorkman also stepped up to win in three sets. Baranowski defeated Jerad Harbaugh 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 in No. 5 singles, and Biorkman won his match against Kevin Grieve 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
"I'm proud of the fact that we fought back, but it's frustrating because we came so close and couldn't win it," said head coach Tim Siegel. "I knew that doubles was the key. We needed to pull it out and we didn't.
"From this point, we have to look forward and stay focused," Siegel said. "These guys are fighters and played tough in every match."
In doubles, Tech claimed the win in the No. 2 spot, with Jimenez and Doug Lacy winning 8-5, but did not earn the point as Colorado won the other two matches.
Texas Tech will hit the road next weekend for the H.E.B. Invitational March 7-9 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
