LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Men's Tennis team lost a tightly contested match to the twelfth ranked Texas A&M Aggies 4-3 this afternoon at the McLeod Tennis Center. The match was the team's first loss in Lubbock this season.

The Red Raiders (10-8, 1-3 Big 12) jumped out to an early lead in two of the three doubles matches before Texas A&M rallied to sweep the doubles point. Senior Royce Ramey (Richardson, Texas) took home a win in the number one seed match defeating Keith From, 6-4, 4-0. From retired in the second set due to injury.

With the match tied at three points apiece, the match's outcome came down to the result of the number six doubles match between A&M's Derrick Bauer and Tech's Alfonso Perez (Guadalajara, Mexico). After splitting the first two sets, Perez jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the deciding third set, before falling in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 7-6 (4).

Tech will return to the McLeod tennis Center on Sunday to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a Big 12 match-up. Fans attending the match will receive free pizza and the first 50 fans will receive a free Red Raider tennis t-shirt.
