No. 7 Baylor Tops No. 28 Texas Tech

Felipe Soares teamed with Hugo Dojas for Texas Tech's only win on Saturday in Waco.

April 5, 2014

WACO, Texas – No. 7 Baylor swept No. 28 Texas Tech, 7-0, on Saturday at the Hurd Tennis Center in the Big 12 opener for both teams.

The loss was the first time Texas Tech has been swept 7-0 since the then-No. 34 Red Raiders lost to then-No. 6 Baylor, 7-0 at the McLeod Tennis Center on Apr. 14, 2009.

The lone bright spot on the day was the No. 1 doubles win by Felipe Soares and Hugo Dojas, who upended Patrick Pradella and Mate Zsiga, 8-6.

Texas Tech will now travel to Oklahoma to face No. 23 Oklahoma State on Friday at 6 p.m. in Stillwater and then No. 5 Oklahoma on Sunday at 1 p.m.
