LUBBOCK, Texas - The top-seeded and sixth-ranked Texas A&M Aggies defeated Texas Tech, 4-0, in men's tennis action Friday morning in the Big 12 Tournament in Waco, Texas, ending the Red Raiders season.

The Aggies took the doubles point to begin the match, with Tech's Richard Crabtree and Borut Martincevic dropping an 8-3 decision to the fifth-ranked tandem of Shuon Madden and Dumitru Caradima.

TAMU's Keith From and Jarin Skube defeated Seth Atkins and Scotty George, 8-1, to take the doubles point. The doubles match between Tech's Costa Yiannakapoulos and Chris Drumm and TAMU's Tres Davis and Ryan Newport was called with the Aggies leading, 6-5.

In singles action, the Aggies won three matches and were leading in the other three when the match was called.

Madden was leading Martincevic, 6-4, in the No. 1 position, and From held a 5-4 advantage over Crabtree at No. 2. Caradima defeated Yiannakapoulos, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3, while Davis held a 6-1 lead against Drumm.

In the No. 5 spot, Nathan Price defeated George, 6-0, 6-1, and Skube took care of Atkins, 6-0, 6-0.

A season filled with injuries ended for head coach Tim Siegel, with the Red Raiders posting a 7-15 overall record.

"We played today without five of our top seven players," Siegel said. "We had a lot of intensity in doubles. Texas A&M is a great team. They are all business and are a legitimate team to win nationals."
