Prpic Done at NCAA Championships|

Lubbock, Texas - Texas Tech sophomore No. 56 Adrian Prpic fell in the opening round of 64 at the NCAA Singles Championships, in Palo Alto, Calif., on the campus of Stanford, on Wednesday. No. 56 Prpic fell to No. 61 Joseph Jung of Alabama, 6-3, 7-5.
Prpic ends the 2006 season with a singles record of 14-15. After playing at No. 6 and No. 7 in 2005, Prpic moved up to the No.1 spot in singles for 2006. He led a squad the consisted of three freshmen playing in the top six. The Red Raiders went 13-11 overall and 2-6 in conference play.
Jung's record now moves to 21-16 and he will advance to the round of 32.
"I thought Addy played really well," said head coach Tim Siegel. "It was high quality tennis and he had a lot of opportunities in the second set. At one point in the second set, he led 3-1. I'm really pleased with the way he played and it's really going to give him a boost for next season."
